Catalyst is pleased to be a part of the BESN again this year, this time working with the newly formed successor to DECC – the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy – to provide help and support to vulnerable consumers and those frontline staff whose work involves everyday contact.

For Consumers

As part of our services to consumers, we will be providing Outreach Events in various locations around Birmingham – so come and talk to us if you have any questions about your energy bills. you can even bring your bills and statements in for us to look at and see if you’re eligible for any further assistance.

Our ‘assisted action’ programme aims to help consumers make informed decisions about:

  • tariffs
  • payment options
  • switching
  • energy efficiency in the home
  • taking up/applying to any discounts or assistance schemes available

We have previously saved clients up to £400!

In addition to Outreach programme, we also provide a Home Visiting service where we can provide a greater degree of assistance and also look at the insulation and heating systems.

For frontline staff, we can provide training and information sessions to enable you to help those vulnerable people you come into contact with on a day-to-day basis as part of your work. This will equip you with the skills and knowledge to understand the impact of fuel poverty and energy saving action and to be able to refer clients to the help needed.

These sessions are designed for housing officers, visiting officers and health and social care workers. If you provide a service which involves everyday contact with vulnerable people, please contact us!

If you are interested in any of our services, whether you feel it would help anyone you know or you would like to participate as a volunteer, contact us by phone on 0121 607 1798 or email at enquiries@catalystcic.co.uk.
